Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for athletics when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic ability at the at the time. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out the sport, she finished second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest world winner in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked among the top three athletes at her particular events.
